Chorus TV: Vinnie Caruana

Vinnie Caruana

With music fans eager yet apprehensive about the return of concerts, Vinnie Caruana has been providing an ideal experience in the form of private outdoor shows throughout the summer. After over a year without live music, I found myself in the cranberry capital of the world – Middleborough, MA – being serenaded by his acoustic performance in a safe, intimate backyard setting on July 24. Enjoy the full set of The Movielife, I Am the Avalanche, and solo material.

Chorus TV: Punchline

Punchline

Punchline’s most recent tour found them supporting their longtime friends and influencers, Less Than Jake. The Pittsburgh, PA quartet performed a half hour of catchy tunes, from early fan favorite “Heart Transplants” to material from their latest album, Lion, along with a cover of Operation Ivy’s “Sound System” for the ska loyalists.

Enjoy their full set live from College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT on April 16, 2019.

Chorus TV: Less Than Jake

Less Than Jake

Less Than Jake’s recent tour found the ever-reliable ska punk act doling out a career-spanning mix of fan favorites and deep cuts. Watch them open with “Automatic,” “Plastic Cup Politics,” and “Shindo” – along with accompanying irreverent stage banter and toilet paper guns – live from their stop at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT on April 16, 2019.

I shot and edited the footage with additional filming by Sam Swider.

Chorus TV: Real Friends

Real Friends - Chorus TV

Real Friends’ recent “$5 Tour” gave fans a unique opportunity to see this young and blossoming group in intimate environments they have long since outgrown. From skate parks to record stores, the band gave back to their supporters and local scenes across the country by performing at small venues with tickets priced at just five bucks. I filmed their stop at an oversold VFW hall in middle-of-nowhere Upton, Massachusetts. They mentioned several times how supportive our state has been since they first started touring, so it was no surprise to learn that we had one of the most rambunctious crowds of the tour. I hope you enjoy the highlights of the band performing “Late Nights in My Car” and “I Don’t Love You Anymore.”

Anti-Flag – “Fabled World” (Single Premiere)

Anti-Flag

Anti-Flag are now ten albums into their career, but there’s no shortage of ire from the current social and political climate to fuel the punk iconoclasts. This is made a evident by the first single, “Fabled World,” for which you can watch the new video in the replies. The aggressive political punk anthem appears on American Spring, which drops on May 26th via Spinefarm Records.

Review: The Wonder Years – The Upsides

The Wonder Years - The Upsides

Dan “Soupy” Campbell is not sad anymore. After years of struggling to keep his head above water, The Wonder Years’ frontman is looking for the upsides to life. The newly adopted mantra is also the namesake of the band’s sophomore effort, The Upsides.

The album ups the ante in every way possible. The songwriting is more dynamic, sans the out of place breakdowns and unnecessary keyboards. (Keyboardist Mikey Kelly left the band prior to the recording of the album.) In their place are more opportunities for the other instruments to shine. Mike Kennedy displays some impressive skin work with his upbeat drumming throughout the 40 minute duration. Matt Brasch and Casey Cavaliere’s guitar work is more refined and melodic, while bassist Josh Martin keeps the low-end thumping. Campbell’s vocals have also improved immensely. He offers more soaring choruses and crooning melodies.
