It’s not officially “feeling like summer is around the corner season” until you break out ‘Take Off Your Pants and Jacket’ to watch a sunset.

Things I think are worth checking out today: The Maine, I Am the Avalanche, and Holly Humberstone.

Birthday week ... I feel like I need to do a "Jason's favorite albums to make him feel good" speed run.

Midtown’s ‘Living Well is the Best Revenge’ is currently not available on Apple Music and it’s maybe the first time I’ve thought: we really need to own most of our music files again.

I've been on a huge Thrice kick this week and To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere is really connecting with me again. In an almost depressing way "Blood on the Sand" resonates even more now than on release:

There's blood on the sand, there's blood in the street
And there's a gun in my hand, or there might as well be
And I'm sick of it — I'm so sick of this

We panic at the sight of different-colored skin
And we've got a plan to justify each mess we're in
But I've seen too much (of this fear and hate)
I've had enough (and I'm not afraid)
To take a stand, to make it right — this has to end

It's a cold morning and Death Cab's playing softly. A new week begins ...

God bless the daylight, the sugary smell of springtime
Remembering when you were mine in a still suburban town
When every Thursday I'd brave those mountain passes
And you'd skip your early classes, and we'd learn how our bodies worked

Been on a big Green Day kick over the past couple of weeks. I listened to American Idiot so many times in 2004, and then over the years kind of let that one fade back because I had overplayed it. But, last week it "clicked" again in a big way. Which is funny to say about one of the like seminal albums in the genre.

A little depressing how much the lyrics still hit 22 years later.

Not an original thought, by any means, but, you know, The Beatles are good.

This makes me so happy. I … really never expected I'd be listening to new The Academy Is… music again. Up there with The Format as the most shocking/exciting to me over the last year or so. Spoiler: The entire album has the same breezy vibe as this song. Feels like a mother fucking spring day set to music. "L Train" sent me into an immediate groove.
