Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Today is Martin Luther King Jr. day and it’s worth re-reading some of his speeches:
This is why right temporarily defeated is stronger than evil triumphant. I believe that even amid today’s mortar bursts and whining bullets, there is still hope for a brighter tomorrow. I believe that wounded justice, lying prostrate on the blood-flowing streets of our nations, can be lifted from this dust of shame to reign supreme among the children of men. I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits. I believe that what self-centered men have torn down men other-centered can build up.
Merry Christmas
I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone who celebrates a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday. I hope everyone has a wonderful day filled with friends, family, and good food and drinks. 2017 has been interesting, but it’s almost over. We’ll have our annual “best of 2017” feature ready to run early in January. All of us are building our lists.
I know the holidays can also be a difficult time for many, just know that our community is here for you and there’s a bunch of resources online if you need someone to talk to.

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. day. It feels like his words are needed now more than ever.
We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God’s children.
Happy New Year
I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year. I’m looking forward to a bunch of great music and maybe we’ll even get a new Brand New album.
Wishing Everyone a Wonderful Holiday
I just wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a happy holidays and a merry Christmas. I hope everyone is having a great weekend and at the very least enjoying some good food, drinks, family, and entertainment. The Chorus staff and contributors are working on finalizing our end of the year lists and we’ll have those ready for publication right after the new year.
Thanks to everyone that’s read this website this year and/or become a supporting member. Starting and running Chorus has been the most fulfilling months of my career, and I couldn’t do it without all of you. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
