I’ve wanted to pick up one of these signed handwritten lyric sheets from Ryan of Yellowcard for a while. When the latest shop opened up, I finally went for it. I picked a song that’s meant a whole lot to me over the years, “Back Home.” It’s a song that started as an anthem for a young me off in college and thinking about what I’d left behind. It’s now a song that makes me think about all I have right now, and how far I’ve come from being that silly kid running off to California.

I’m super happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to frame it for the office wall.

Found a spot for the NFG drum head. The new office is coming together. I probably should do an updated full blog post once I finish a few more things.

I have some errands to run this morning (haircut!) and then we have Valentine’s Day dinner reservations this evening. So, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get to writing a newsletter today or if it will have to wait.

Big Thursday kick this week.

Yeah, that’s a pretty nice mail day. ‘Dyed’ is definitely one of my favorites of the year so far (and I had to grab that covers album).

Most listened to last week.

That Underoath album is under embargo until next Friday, so the plan will be to write more about it in next week’s newsletter. I hope to write a longer newsletter this weekend after some errands and a friend’s birthday get together.

Finally. This is a holy grail addition to the collection for me, an album I’ve wanted and been chasing for years.

Having this in my hands has made my entire week. One of my favorite albums of the last decade, easily one of my most played, and a modern classic.

January: the month that refused to end.

It was cold.
Most days had multiple absurd news push notifications, because, well, you know.

But we’re still here.

I’m trying to spend this year not falling back into bad habits of doom scrolling and feeling like I need go know everything all the time. I’m letting myself pick and choose, and trying instead to focus on what I can control. Getting back into a daily workout routine, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, enjoying coffee and a good beer.
