December 1st and the ritual changing of the logo to the holiday logo is one of my favorite traditions.
This one hit me right in the heart: https://xkcd.com/3172/
It's becoming a trend: Another Diabolical Lies podcast episode that really spoke to me. This one focused on building a business, selling it, getting burnt out, and buying it back. Combined with the commentary about being subjected to constant "worldwide feedback" and this one had me nodding along throughout.
The updates to the Trakt iOS app have been absolutely horrendous lately. Like “ruining the app” level bad. The star rating change, not being able to filter an actor’s films by watch history, and the overall look are so bad.
A thing I remember from my childhood, or more so the high school years, are the James Bond movie marathons around Thanksgiving. I’d spend countless hours on the basement couch watching whatever movie happened to be playing.
Sigrid's debut album was my favorite album of 2019. I liked the follow-up but it never crossed over to the love stage. (The deluxe got closer; I really like the softer renditions of some of those songs.)
The album she released on Friday? Immediate love.

"Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love." - Gandalf
Today is a stacked day of new music and I'll definitely be talking about more of the albums out today over the next few days, but I just need to highlight this People R Ugly album for anyone looking for something to lead them into the weekend. Think pop-punk in the vein of Super American. Melody for days.

During the rare evenings when Hannah has to work late I’ve been doing a ‘Mad Men’ re-watch. I love this show. Season four has some all timers.
Been using the beta of Mimestream for iOS over the last couple of weeks and it’s a winner. Just no nonsense but robust and all I really need in an email client.
Day of anniversary releases, huh?
Not including new bands, which have also had a nice run, this streak of Motion City Soundtrack, to The Starting Line, to Thrice, AFI, and then Yellowcard is pretty ridiculous. We’re spoiled and we deserve it given the state of everything else in the world right now.
Every few months I scroll through Merlin’s “wisdom” project and smile: http://wisdom.limo/
The Starting Line are back! Just typing those words brings me such joy. And their new album does not disappoint. They've also sponsored the website this week and are only the second band ever to get a special theme.

Great day for pop-punk fans. The Paradox have released their new EP and this is absolutely a band to keep an eye on.
