As May comes to a close I’m thinking about life changing like the seasons. And changes are afoot.

May brought multiple great concerts and some great times with family and friends. It opened with The Academy Is… and ended with Yellowcard and New Found Glory.

You can’t ask for a better introduction to summer.

May 2026

The weather is starting to turn just a little bit. The music is starting to turn right along with it. Bring on those perfect pop-punk vibes.

It was a fun month that included a bowling outing with my sister to an old nostalgic haunt, getting the pool table felt fixed and refreshed, and some great beer and time with Hannah.

Can’t ask for much more. We’re healthy and happy.

April 2026

March comes to a bittersweet end. It represented another trip around the sun, some good times with family and friends, some loss, a world ever teetering on the edge, and a hopeful sliver of spring and summer around the bend.

March 2026.

Another month has come and gone.

February was defined by a late month trip to New Orleans. It was my first time there and it was with perfect timing that Hannah could come tag along so we could spend some quality vacation time together at the end of the week.

(A slightly postponed Valentines dinner was well worth it.)

February 2026

I didn’t take many photos in January. The world around me felt dark — often a little unworthy of memories. But it passed, and there were some bright moments. Hannah filled a life long dream and met the Hobbits. I filled my head with a lot of music. And now February is here. I hope for better, for all of us.

January 2026

Only having twenty spaces to document December is near impossible.

A month of family, friends, and trying to wind down the year. A month of traditions. The holiday parties, the annual PJs, movie, and way too much Chinese food night, and all the rest. It was a wonderful month full of joy. I’ll miss the warm holiday decoration glow.

Onward to 2026.

December 2025

I love November.

Starting with our wedding anniversary and leading to Thanksgiving, a Turkey trot, lots of food, lots of family, and then decorating for Christmas. It went by too fast. And I’m still full.

November 2025

Happy Halloween.

Another month has come to an end, and my favorite time of year has kicked off in full force. Fall, the changing of the leaves, and a creep toward the new year.

October 2025

Another month comes to an end. And, I suppose it’s fitting that it’s raining. October is here.

September went by in a blur. We celebrated the first year in our new home, we joined a Fantasy Football league with friends, we had good food, good drinks, and I listened to so much good music. This streak of Motion City Soundtrack, to The Starting Line, to Thrice, AFI, and then Yellowcard is pretty ridiculous. We’re spoiled and we deserve it given the state of everything else in the world right now.

September 2025

August has reminded me that I need to take more photos. The month came and went and I’m flipping through and seeing lots of cats. We did a lot of things, and I was very bad at documenting it. The rose garden sure was cool though. What I’ll probably remember most? It was hot. Every day hot. Too hot. So very very hot.

August 2025

July, a month where I scroll back through photos and realize we did a lot and I didn’t take enough (or very good) photos to document it! The summer heat is unrelenting. The vibes? They’re not bad, considering – you know – everything.

July 2025

June delivered a Turnstile summer. Sunny weather. Hannah’s birthday. A visit to Hannah’s mom’s new puppies. Some great music pulsating throughout (and I know we’re just getting started). Onto July we go…

June 2025

May’s grid addition is a whole lot of running. Hannah convinced me to sign up for a 5K as part of this whole be healthier/improve cardio kick I have been on. Only goal was to finish and to not embarrass myself. I feel pretty good about the results; the sun got to me a little on the last mile.

May 2025

April has come and gone. It was another month where I kept at this whole jogging thing and set a new PR in the mile and 5K. More records were listened to. Mark’s book was great. The cats did cat things.

April 2025

March represented one more trip around the sun. I got a little older, maybe not much wiser. I’ve been spending the month trying to improve my cardio health, so that means I’m jogging more and the birthday treats probably only offset that a little bit.
