I kind of can’t believe December has already come and gone. And with it, we’re on the precipice of a new year.
But December was full of warmth, comforts, and the presence of loved ones. We decorated the tree for the first time in our new place and began a bunch of new traditions I hope will continue for many years to come.
The cats sure enjoyed themselves.
And there’s the bow on 12 months.

Dark Mode has existed as a perk for supporting members since 2016. It was brought to the main website in December of 2017. However, over the years as the website has been updated, so has Dark Mode, and none of the previous posts showcase how it currently looks on the main website and in the community.
This post is to give you a little preview of what life on the dark side looks like. As a supporting member you are able to set your theme on your supporter options page, or your forum browsing preferences page. Your choice will work across both sections of the website. You can choose to view the website in the Light or Dark theme, or select the “automatic” mode and the theme will be set to what your operating system theme choice is. This is a great option if you have your operating system change over to its Dark theme at sunset because then the website will automatically switch as well.
Dark Mode will also work on third party auto-embeds that support a dark theme and, of course, also works on mobile devices. And, because it’s a supporting member perk, it never has any advertisements on it.

A month of celebration, friends, family, and the leaves turning a perfect shade of red and gold.
It’s cliche, sure, but I’m reminded of how much in my life I have to be thankful for.

One of the awesome parts of running your own blog is that it is an archive of everything you’ve written over the years that you have complete control over. However, as the years go on, I realized that I don’t have a place where I can keep a nice tidy archive of my favorite things (or pieces I think are noteworthy) I’ve written. A place to document the various series or long-form pieces I’m proud of and the reviews that I think stand out above the others.
This is now that place.

October was spent continuing to move into our new home, finalizing unpacking, ordering and putting in new furniture, and making the place feel more like “ours.” The little touches of absurd nerdery helped. We took some time to visit pumpkin patches, attend my sister’s annual Halloween party, and I (shocking, I know) even found time to spin a few records. We’re one dining room table delivery and a window covering install away from being pretty much done with the move. And I’m really looking forward to things settling down and finding a routine again; especially as we move into my favorite time of the year.
