Balance and Composure – “Alive & Well”

Balance and Composure have shared the new song “Alive & Well.”

Following the fall release of their triumphant comeback album with you in spirit, Pennsylvania rock band Balance and Composure return with a powerful new song, “Alive & Well,” out April 10 via Memory Music. While it didn’t make the final cut for the LP, it was actually the song that reignited the band's creative spark and ultimately led to their reunion after nearly a decade apart.

Produced by Grammy-nominated collaborator––and bonus member––Will Yip, the song explores themes of disconnection, internal struggle, and reclaiming one’s sense of self admits an onslaught of crushing riffs and a visceral vocal performance.

“This was the first song we worked on together when we decided to become a band again,” says vocalist/guitarist Jon Simmons. “It was an idea that Erik [Petersen, guitarist] had sent us in early talks of maybe reuniting and I sang over it almost immediately which began the entire process of writing a record."

“Alive & Well” captures the depth and force that Balance and Composure have become known for since their earliest releases, and it embodies both a return and a reckoning—brutally honest and cathartic in its execution. Their latest album with you in spirit, released last fall, marked their first full-length in eight years and received praise for its towering rock crescendos and explorations of faith, grief, and mortality. Throughout, the record introduces a new chapter for the band, navigating emotional tension with crystal-clear arrangements, gripping grooves, and moments of raw, earth-shaking power.
