Jon Simmons of Balance and Composure sat down with Ian Cohen at Stereogum:
“I saw it coming to an end the last tour, but we didn’t make a statement because we truly didn’t know until we met up a couple months ago,” says Simmons. “I didn’t want to break up. I like performing, I like writing, but you can’t be touring for three months straight when you have a family at home. That’s how it always goes, it seems.”
Jon Simmons of Balance and Composure is on the latest episode of the Strange Nerve podcast. At around the 25:00 mark he mentions the band won’t be continuing much longer. They’ll be playing the anniversary shows and then calling it a day.
Balance and Composure have announced their annual holiday show. The show will be January 6th in New York City and tickets go on sale this Wednesday.

Balance and Composure spoke with Entertainment Weekly about their 2013 van crash:
Their van and trailer were totaled, news that devastated the group. “When you’re a touring musician, that’s like your home,” Van Ellis says. “It just made so much sense during the whole thing that we weren’t going to live throughout it. The severity of falling through this guardrail, I think it just shook us to the point where no one wanted to think about touring or being on the road in any capacity.”
Balance and Composure have shared their new video for “Postcard.” I hope they tweet a few dozen times about it.
