Isaiah Dominguez

In an era where so many bands are creating their 1975 sound-alike records, Isaiah Dominguez has found a way to marry an ambient, 80’s inspired ballad, with a modern alternative twist. His new single, “When I’m Gone,” gives listeners a ballad rife with lush chorus driven guitars while still staying true to himself. Describing the process, Isaiah said, “It was really important for me to sound like myself, no matter how much this track wanted to deviate to the ‘Spotify sound’.” The single was mixed by Rian Dawson (All Time Low/Track Happy Studios), and released on Evergreen Noise Records today. The song comes from the full-length album due out next week. The single’s pulsing bass line and ethereal instrumentals makes it an ideal late-night, mood-setting tune.

Stream the song on Apple Music, Spotify, or Google Play.

Isaiah Dominguez

On Friday Isaiah Dominguez released his new single “Used to Be.” The song comes from the upcoming album, Holy Ghost, due out June 28th via Evergreen Noise Records.

“Used To Be” is a marriage of dynamics and lyrical depth. While the choruses soar in a major key and echo a familiar sentiment, the verses reveal a darker, more introspective message. While the general structure and lyrics can be attributed to the growth of Isaiah Dominguez as a songwriter, the song really took flight with the production of Rian Dawson (All Time Low, Track Happy Studios) and the guest vocals of Dan Swank (Egocheck). Together, they created a deceptively catchy single, anchored by a “call and response” that is reminiscent of emo/pop-punk bands in the early aughts. Isaiah has always prided himself on being open and honest in his lyrics, but this song seems even more vulnerable than before. This combination paves the way for an edgier take on the “singer/songwriter” genre. The result is a tune you’ll want to crank the volume and roll down the windows for.

The song is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play.

Craigs Brother - Ad

My thanks to Craig’s Brother for sponsoring the website this week. I still remember buying this band’s album at the only store near me that carried early Tooth and Nail Records’ albums. Well, they’re back with a new EP, Devils in the Details, and you can grab that at all digital retailers or a physical copy from their webstore.

The album is also available on all digital platforms and the new song “Follow Your Heart” was recently featured on the “New Punk Tracks” Spotify playlist. The album was mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room.

If you're looking for some melodic pop-punk in the vein of Inspection 12, Dogwood, and MxPx, this should be right in your wheelhouse.

False King

A huge thank you to False King for once again sponsoring the website this week. It’s always great to have repeat sponsors and since one of the members of the band is a a regular poster in the forums, the comment section has been funny and informative to read on these posts.

The band released their new single “1-800-HELLSCAPE” with an accompanying video this week and my favorite thing included in the ad copy was when it was described as a “post-metalcore banger.” It’s been described as for fans of Every Time I Die, Daughters, and HEALTH, and it’s totally worth your time.

I never know beforehand what kind of reaction sponsored news posts are going to get, but let me quote some of the replies to this one earlier this week:

This is sleek beak and honestly so good.

And:

Ding ding ding on that RIYL. Will check out.

And the concise and simple:

So good.

If you like bands like Nothing, Pianos Become The Teeth, and Architects, you should check out False King. They just released a video for their new single, “Movements Part II,” which comes from their upcoming split with The Art of Fading titled FALSE/FADING and is due this March.

And, after that, why not check out the video for “Blood Pools” released a few weeks ago? My sincere thanks to the band for sponsoring our website this week.
