J. Cole has the number one album this week:
KOD opened with 397,000 total copies, including 174,000 traditional albums and 215,000 streaming equivalent albums (SEAs). Only Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods sold more debut week traditional copies than KOD this year, but KOD’s first-week streaming totals, the third-best ever since the Billboard 200 began measuring streams, pushed the album to 2018’s best sales week, Billboard reports.
Jason Aldean has the number one album in the country this week:
Rearview Town, released on April 13 via Macon/Broken Bow Records, launches with 183,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending April 19, according to Nielsen Music, of which 162,000 were in traditional album sales. The set starts with the biggest week in terms of overall units and album sales for any country title this year.
Cardi B has the number one album in the country this week:
The set, which was released on April 6 through The KSR Group/Atlantic Records, earned 255,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 12, according to Nielsen Music. That’s the second-biggest week of 2018, trailing only the arrival of Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods, which bowed with 293,000 units on the Feb. 17-dated chart.
For those curious Underoath and The Wonder Years both sold around 21,000 copies of their new albums in the first week.
The Weeknd has topped the charts with his surprise release:
The surprise release, which arrived on March 30 via XO/Republic Records, earned 169,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 5, according to Nielsen Music — the biggest week for an R&B album in over a year, since his own last album. Of that sum, 68,000 were in traditional album sales.
Also:
Singer Kacey Musgraves collects her third top 10 album, as her seventh studio album Golden Hour bows at No. 4 with 49,000 units (with 39,000 of that sum powered by traditional album sales).
Jack White has the number one album in the country this week:
The set — which was released on March 23 via Third Man/Columbia Records — earned 124,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 29, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 121,000 were in traditional album sales — the largest sales week for a rock album in 2018.
Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self-Destruct hits number two on the charts this week:
At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self-Destruct roars 42-2 with 65,000 units (up 413 percent), of which 63,000 were in traditional album sales (up 480 percent). The former No. 1 set zooms back up the list following sales generated from a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer for the next U.S./Canadian leg of the band’s WorldWired Tour.
Logic has the number one album in the country this week:
The set, which was released on March 9 through Visionary/Def Jam, bows with 119,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending March 15, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 32,000 were in traditional album sales.
The Black Panther soundtrack is once again the top selling album in the country:
The album earned 76,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 8 (down 23 percent), according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 15,000 were in traditional album sales.
Bon Jovi has the number one album in the country this week:
The set re-enters the tally with 120,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending March 1, according to Nielsen Music, up from a negligible figure in the previous week. Essentially all of its sum is traditional album sales. The surge back to No. 1 is owed nearly entirely to sales generated by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with Bon Jovi’s upcoming U.S. arena tour.
Every song on Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface has now been certified by the RIAA. This is now the first album in the digital era to have this distinction. The press release can be found below.

Black Panther: The Album is once again the number one album:
Black Panther: The Album spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, as the set earned 131,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Feb. 22 (down 15 percent), according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 40,000 were in traditional album sales (down 23 percent). A week ago, the album debuted at No. 1 with 154,000 units (52,000 in album sales).
The Black Panther soundtrack is the number one album in the country this week:
Black Panther: The Album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, launching with 154,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Feb. 15, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 52,000 are in traditional album sales.
Justin Timberlake has the number one album in the country this week:
The set, which was released on Feb. 2 through RCA Records, earned 293,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Feb. 8, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 242,000 were in traditional album sales.
Migos have the number one album in the country this week:
Rap trio Migos scores its second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as Culture II opens atop the tally. The set — which was released on Jan. 26 through Quality Control/Motown/Capitol Records — earned 199,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Feb. 1, according to Nielsen Music.
Fall Out Boy have the number one album in the country this week:
The set earned 130,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Jan. 25, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 117,000 were in traditional album sales. Mania is the group’s seventh full-length studio set and was released on Jan. 19 through Island Records. […] Mania performed particularly well with direct-to-consumer sales via Fall Out Boy’s official web store, and with vinyl LP sales. For the latter format, the album sold 13,000 copies — the biggest week for a vinyl album since the Sept. 30, 2017-dated list, when The National’s Sleep Well Beast bowed with 14,000 vinyl LPs.
This is the band’s fourth number one album.
