AC/DC have the number one album in the country this week:
The new studio effort was released via Columbia Records on Nov. 13 and starts with 117,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 19, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. AC/DC previously hit No. 1 with 2008’s Black Ice and 1981’s For Those About to Rock (We Salute You). All told, Power Up is AC/DC’s 26th charting album, and 10th top 10.
Ariana Grande once again has the number one album in the country.
Ariana Grande’s Positions spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as the set earned 82,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 12 (down 53%), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It bowed atop the list a week ago with 174,000 units earned.

Ariana Grande achieves her fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as her latest studio effort, Positions, debuts atop the tally. The set was released on Oct. 30 by Republic Records and launches with 174,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 5, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Luke Combs has the number one album in the country this week:
The set, which debuted atop the list dated Nov. 23, 2019, zooms from No. 21 to No. 1 with 109,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 29 (up 399 percent), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The album was reissued on Oct. 23 with a handful of additional songs, bringing its total song count to 23.
Bruce Springsteen comes in at number two, making him the first act to have top five-charting albums in each fo the last six decades:
As Bruce Springsteen’s new album Letter to You debuts at No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 chart, he becomes the first act with new top five-charting albums in each of the last six decades (1970s, ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s, ‘10s and the ‘20s). Letter to You is Springsteen’s 20th studio effort.
Taylor Swift once again is at the top of the charts this week:
Taylor Swift’s Folklore surges back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for an eighth nonconsecutive week on top, as the set jumps from No. 10 with 77,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 22 (up 170%), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The album’s huge increase is owed to an explosion of sales generated from Swift’s official webstore, where the superstar sold autographed CDs of the set for $25 each for a limited time. Of Folklore’s units earned for the week, album sales comprised 57,000 of that figure – a gain of 709%.
Taylor Swift’s Folklore has gone platinum.

After a three-month wait, Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a second week. The set rises 3-1 and earned 67,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 15 (down 1 percent), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The collaboration between 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, Savage Mode II, is the number one album this week.
Of Savage Mode II’s 171,000 units earned in the tracking week ending Oct. 8, SEA units comprise 148,000 (equaling 200.1 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs), album sales total 22,000 (helped in part by merchandise/album bundles) and TEA units comprise 1,000.
LANY also got their first top ten album:
LANY scores its highest charting album, and first top 10, as the trio’s Mama’s Boy bows at No. 7 with 55,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that figure, 46,000 are from album sales (assisted by merchandise/album bundles), 9,000 from SEA units (equating to 11.5 million in on-demand streams of the album’s songs) and a negligible sum from TEA units.
Machine Gun Kelly has the number one album in the country this week:
The set earned 126,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 1, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It was released on Sept. 25 via EST19XX/Bad Boy/Interscope, and marks the fifth top 10 effort overall for the artist. […]
Notably, Tickets to My Downfall marks the first rock album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in over a year. The last rock set to top the tally was Tool’s Fear Inoculum, which bowed at No. 1 on the Sept. 14, 2019-dated list and spent one week in charge.
Taylor Swift is once again on the top of the charts:
In doing so, Swift surpasses Whitney Houston’s longstanding record, among women, for the most cumulative weeks at No. 1, across all of her chart-topping albums. Swift’s total weeks at No. 1 now stands at 47, one more than Houston’s tally of 46. Folklore earned 87,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 24 (up 97 percent), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again has the number one album in the country this week:
Rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again achieves his third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in less than a year, as the fittingly titled Top debuts atop the tally. The set was released on Sept. 11 via Never Broke Again/Artist Partner Group/Atlantic and earned 126,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 17, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Big Sean has the number one album in the country this week:
The set, which was released on Sept. 4 via G.O.O.D./Def Jam, launches with 103,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 10, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The RIAA have released their 2020 mid-year report. One interesting tidbit:
Vinyl album revenues of $232 million were 62% of total physical revenues, marking the first time vinyl exceeded CDs for such a period since the 1980’s, though it still only accounted for 4% of total music recorded music revenues.
Taylor Swift has the first album to spend six weeks at number once since 2016.

Taylor Swift, once again, has the number one album in the country:
Taylor Swift’s Folklore spends a fifth straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, tying Lil Baby’s My Turn for the most weeks atop the list in 2020. Folklore further becomes the first album to rule for five weeks in a row at No. 1 since Drake’s Scorpion also logged its first frames at No. 1 (July 14-Aug. 11, 2018-dated charts).
