Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional today announced he has teamed up with Nightowl Canning as a partner, investor, and ambassador for Canvino: Bottle-Quality Wine, In A Can™. Crafted by Gold Medal Winemaker Susy Vasquez and launching with five varietals—Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay—Canvino is now available to ship in 36 states, just in time for the holidays. All wines can be purchased online in four-packs in California, Tennessee, New York, Washington, D.C., Texas, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, and more (full list available HERE). Canvino will expand into additional states next year; more news will be announced soon.

“After attending a music industry experience in wine country, I was inspired by how much I had learned about wine and how the flavors of each varietal could shape my experience,” explains Carrabba. “It's almost impossible to share a truly exceptional bottle of wine at a concert due to glass restrictions, so I sought out how I could combine music and wine in a more accessible fashion. Bottle quality wine in a can.”

Canvino is farmed and forged by Vasquez in Lodi, California, with an eye to the environment and sustainability—including the use of solar power, as well as worm farms for cleaning processes. All five wines are proudly vegan, gluten-free, and certified green by Lodi Rules®, signifying a third-party audited commitment to rigorous, scientifically-sound sustainable winemaking. Vasquez, a “brightly shining star winemaker” (Lodi Wine Commission), says, "The ability to manage the entire process from vine to can is what sets Canvino apart. There was no need for additives to make the wine taste better, I just took the naked grapes and crafted them to get the right aromatics for each varietal.”

From its can design inspired by Carrabba’s tattoo sleeves to each wine’s vivid palette, Canvino’s identity mirrors the evocative nature of Dashboard Confessional’s songwriting. “Collaborating with Chris on Canvino has taken the brand to a whole other level. His depth of thought and generosity of spirit has been invaluable at every stage of our creative process,” says Sam Saunders, Canvino Chief Creation Officer and Co-founder. “It’s been a dream collaboration for us, because our two brands really aligned on what's important from the get-go. We put as much artistry into the can as Chris does his music."

The official launch of Canvino caps off a year that saw Dashboard Confessional’s DC20 20th anniversary celebration, which included: the band’s first-ever career-spanning compilation, The Best Ones Of The Best Ones; a sold-out North American tour (cut short by the pandemic); a vinyl reissue series, The Early Days, that spotlighted the albums and EPs that defined the band's formative years; and a partnership with Mondo to release three EPs—2001’s So Impossible, 2002’s Summers Kiss, and a newly created Spider-Man 2—for the very first time on vinyl.
