Jimmy Eat World have announced some anniversary vinyl editions of their live performances and will be streaming their Futures hometown show live on Veeps this Friday.
Fall has always been a busy time of year for Jimmy Eat World, with half of their catalog being released in the autumn over the course of the alternative-rock quartet’s three-decade-plus career. This year is no different: Beginning October 21, Jimmy Eat World are releasing the 20th anniversary vinyl edition of their gold-certified fifth studio album, Futures (2004 / Interscope Records), and the 5th anniversary vinyl version of their 10th studio album, Surviving (2019 / RCA Records). In conjunction with Futures' 20th, the band will perform the album from start to finish Oct. 17 in their hometown of Phoenix, AZ at The Van Buren. The one-night-only show is sold out, but Jimmy Eat World fans around the world can watch via the premier streaming platform Veeps. Veeps All Access subscribers can watch Jimmy Eat World’s Oct. 17 Futures show for free, and fans can purchase tickets to the livestream now for $14.99 at https://veeps.events/jimmy-eat-world. The concert will air live on Veeps at 8:45 p.m. MT. The stream will be available for 12 months after the air date, with a three-day rewatch period for individual ticket purchasers. Veeps content is available via veeps.com and apps on Apple TV, Roku, iOS, Samsung, and Android. Futures: Phoenix Sessions (Chapter V) and Surviving: Phoenix Sessions (Chapter X) were self-produced by Jimmy Eat World and impeccably mixed by frontman Jim Adkins. Both limited-edition releases, available via the band’s Exotic Location Recordings, were recorded live as part of their 2021 Phoenix Sessions, a partnership with Danny Wimmer Presents on a unique global streaming performance series filmed at the Icehouse in Phoenix. The Futures: Phoenix Sessions 2-LP set will be on hand-poured blizzard colored vinyl, and its gatefold package comes with exclusive photos by Steve Thrasher, notes from the band, and an exclusive 20th anniversary etching on side D. The Surviving: Phoenix Sessions LP will be pressed on Fade to Black colored vinyl, and it includes an insert with behind-the-scenes photos by Steve Thrasher. To mark the 25th anniversary of Clarity (1999 / Capitol), in February 2024 the band released Clarity: Phoenix Sessions (Chapter III), a limited-edition two-LP pressed on sunkissed colored vinyl. For those looking to order all three chapters, you can now do so here.
