Riot Fest has put together one of the most impressive festival lineups of the year and tickets are on sale and going fast. The bands have been announced for Riot Fest & Rodeo in Denver and Riot Fest & Carnival in Chicago. There are performances from The Original Misfits (featuring Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein), Ween, Death Cab for Cutie, Deftones, Underoath, Brand New, Motion City Soundtrack, and many more. Chicago has Thursday and Jimmy Eat World’s first show of 2016, basically if you like the music covered on this website — you’ll love Riot Fest.

The Descendents will be releasing their first new album in over a decade, and their first release on Epitaph Records since 1996, on Friday. The album is called Hypercaffium Spazzinate and it’s available to pre-order right now. The album began taking shape after the band ended an extended hiatus to play live in 2010. Though still tight, they lived apart: singer Milo Aukerman — whose cartoon rendering famously serves as the band’s logo — was now living in Delaware, bassist Karl Alvarez and founder and drummer Bill Stevenson were in Colorado, and guitarist Stephen Egerton had settled in Oklahoma. So the album came to life over three years as the band sent tracks back and forth, occasionally meeting up in Karl and Bill’s adopted hometown of Fort Collins. Adopting such a protracted process meant not having to rush things, allowing for some of their sharpest songwriting yet.

Los Angeles soul punk band Letlive. will release their new album If I’m The Devil… this Friday, June 10th, and pre-orders are available right now. Since their inception in 2002, Letlive. have been a band that is not easy to categorize. In fact, they refuse to be constrained by the ideas of a “scene” — whether it is punk, metal, indie, or rap.
