Andrew McMahon Worked on New Netflix Series Score

Andrew McMahon

Andrew McMahon has announced his involvement in the upcoming Netflix series, Soundtrack:

So excited to announce the release of Soundtrack. This show is the beautiful brainchild of @joshsafran, who I worked with on Smash several years ago. I spent the summer holed up in the studio with the amazing @whiteseamusic, writing the score for season 1 which will come out on @netflix on December 18th. I owe her such a debt of gratitude for sharing her wisdom and friendship throughout the process. A huge shout out to the cast and crew as well as @iamzacclark who wrote the first episode with me and fellow composer Jimmy Levine who wrote amazing music for the season. Hope you enjoy!

New John Mulaney Special Coming to Netflix

John Mulaney

Megh Wright, writing at Variety:

If you thought we were about to close out the year without a new comedy special from John Mulaney, think again because Netflix just revealed some very festive news: Mulaney’s new special, titled John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch, will make its debut on the streaming network on Christmas Eve. The Sack Lunch Bunch is a bit of a departure from the typical Mulaney special. As first revealed earlier this year, the special will take the format of a children’s variety show featuring sketches and musical numbers in an attempt “to recapture the magic of that bygone television era when children sang songs about their feelings with celebrity guests on funky outdoor sets.”

New ‘He-Man’ Series Coming to Netflix

Kevin Smith has announced he’s working on a new anime He-Man series for Netflix.

The new series, titled “Masters of the Universe: Revelation,” will take place in the Mattel toy inspired world and will focus on some of the unresolved storylines of the classic ‘80s show. Smith will serve as showrunner and executive producer.

“I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe,” Smith said. “In ‘Revelation,’ we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!”

‘The Office’ Leaving Netflix in 2020

The Office

The Office will be leaving Netflix in 2020:

In a statement Tuesday night, NBCUniversal has announced that it will remove the beloved 2000s sitcom from Netflix in 2021, and head exclusively to the company’s forthcoming and as yet unnamed streaming service.

“The Office has become a staple of pop-culture and is a rare gem whose relevance continues to grow at a time when fans have more entertainment choices than ever before,” Bonnie Hammer, chair of NBCUniversal’s digital enterprise, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to welcome the gang from Dunder Mifflin to NBCUniversal’s new streaming service.”
