LVRS are taking their indie rock roots and going back to the 90s with it. They bring attitude with their guitar-driven sound and Olivia DeJonghe’s vocals are a perfect compliment. Today, we’re thrilled to be premiering “Strung Out,” which is off of their upcoming EP, Hamartia. The EP is due out on June 14th, and you can pre-order it now over at Bandcamp.

Nightmarathons – “Reset” (Song Premiere)
Pittsburgh punks Nightmarathons are releasing their debut LP Missing Parts on March 29th through A-F Records. Today we’re excited to bring you the latest single from the album, called “Reset.” It’s one of my favorite songs on the album and Chris Feigh said described it as follows:
Reset is about a denial then dread of our transformation with age and what we’ve become with a longing for the past, wanting to go back.
Downhaul – “Notched” (Song Premiere)
Downhaul will be releasing their debut full length album, Before You Fall Asleep, on March 29th via Refresh Records. Today we’re excited to premiere the album’s latest single, the nostalgic “Notched.” Vocalist/guitarist Gordon Phillips had the following to say about the song:
“Notched” was actually the first song we had for this album. Musically, it represents a pretty significant departure from the rest of the album — probably because it is the oldest of the songs. I wrote about 90% of the lyrics for this song while sitting at the merch table during a show at Skylark Social Club after seeing a person who had the exact same nose shape as a person who once meant a great deal to me. Memories flooded back all at once.
Even though it’s a bit different from the other songs on Before You Fall Asleep, “Notched” is one of my favorites on the album and it’s sure to appeal to fans of indie rock heavyweights like The Weakerthans or The Hotelier. Check out the song below, and if you like it, be sure to preorder the record.
Cuzco – “Old Dog” (Song Premiere)
Charlotte, NC, math rock band Cuzco will be releasing their debut LP, Sketchbook, on April 19th through Refresh Records. Today we’re excited to bring you the album’s first single, the six-and-a-half minute “Old Dog.” It twists and segues through bursts of horns and twinkling riffs that would make Toe. or TTNG proud with a bit of Clever Girl inspired jazz flavor. Check out “Old Dog” below, and if you like the song, be sure to preorder Sketchbook.
Holy Pinto – “Daisychain” (Song Premiere)
Holy Pinto put out an EP last year but they’re already gearing up to release the new full-length, Adult. Today we’re excited to bring you an exclusive premiere of the record’s first single “Daisychain.” If you aren’t familiar with Holy Pinto’s sound, it feels a lot like the lively, poppy indie rock of early Tigers Jaw, and this song is a great display of that. It’s easily one of their best songs yet, and frontman Aymen Saleh had the following to say about it:
The song is about leaving home and the relationships you leave behind to travel and tour. It’s also a nostalgic look at my adolescence, secondary school and growing up. It came to me whilst driving to play at The Fest in Florida – I missed the wristband allocation hours and so the whole first day of the festival because I was parked over in some field in Georgia writing this!
You can stream “Daisychain” below, and, if you like what you hear, be sure to preorder their upcoming LP.

Elephant Jake – “Kjerstin” (Song Premiere)
Today we’re excited to bring you New York indie rock band Elephant Jake’s newest single “Kjerstin.” If you’re a fan of bands like Modern Baseball or Nervous Dater, you’ll want to check out this ear worm of a track. Guitarist/vocalist Sal Fratto had this today about the song:
The song’s about the melancholic feelings associated with a troubled relationship. Disagreements, distance, and dissension take a toll on both parties, and both must move forward with a positive mindset and aspirations for the future. I needed a two syllable name for the chorus, and thought of a woman I consider to be another mother to me, Kjerstin. She is the mother of my high school best friends, my mother’s best friend, and the amount of love that she spreads is incomparable. Thank you for everything that you do for me. I realized that the song expresses a sense of distaste and anger, but those are the opposite of what anyone can feel toward Kjerstin. I think that’s funny.
Check it out below.
Slow Code – “Consumption-Based” (Song Premiere)

The song comes from the band’s upcoming album, Songs of the Isolation, which is due out on March 30th. If you like what you hear, pre-orders are now up. Lead singer, Aaron Robinson, had this to say about the dreamy rock song:
This was the first song we wrote for this record. It’s sonically pretty different than much of the EP, but it set the tone for how these songs would come together live. It’s a song about a desperate need to spontaneously get away from everything and reset.
Andrew Belle – “When the End Comes” (Song Premiere)
Andrew Belle will release his new album, Dive Deep, on August 25th. Today I’m excited to bring you the premiere of the new song “When the End Comes.” When describing the song, Andrew said:
“When the End Comes” is about just that – it’s about how on one hand I can know that at the end of my time here I won’t care about much else besides the people that I love and who love me back; and yet I get so distracted and caught up in my own head with everything going on these days that I need reminding of that on a daily basis. At the end of my life there will only be a handful of things that mean anything to me and so I wrote this song about keeping those things close and putting everything else in the background.
Pre-orders for the album are now up and ticket packages for the upcoming tour are also available. I’ve been looking forward to this album for a while, and it doesn’t sound like it’s going to disappoint.

American Opera – “Sidewalks” (Song Premiere)
Today we have the premiere of American Opera’s new song “Sidewalks” for you. The track comes from the upcoming album, Small Victories, which is due out on Spartan Records on June 30th. Pre-orders are now up.
Vocalist John Bee, described the song:
“Sidewalks” is about two lost souls fumbling their way through life. Two complete strangers who walk the same streets, looking for the same thing, but they never find it because they are too scared, too lost, too hurt, too far gone. The help they need, the people they need, everything they need is right there in front of them. They just can’t see it because they are blinded by life. They live in their own worlds that are the result of every moment, every interaction, every fleeting thought they have ever had. They are blinded by their own shit. They can’t see each other.
I loved working with Meeko on “Sidewalks.” We’ve worked together in the past and it was a real privilege to work with her again. She’s one of those people who doesn’t seem to understand how truly talented she is and it’s a bit maddening. It’s as if it’s effortless for her. She flew in to Atlanta on no sleep and completely knocked it out of the park. She makes another appearance later on in the album which is probably my favorite part of the record.
Jason Call – “The Perfect Cast” (Song Premiere)
