Insane Clown Posse Lose Legal Fight Over Juggalo ‘Gang’ Label
Jon Blistein, writing for Rolling Stone:
The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that the FBI’s decision to list the Juggalos as a gang was not a “final agency” action, meaning it was not legally binding and could not be challenged in court.
The FBI classified the Juggalos as a gang in their 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment. The report referred to them as “a loosely-organized hybrid gang” that engages in “sporadic, disorganized, individualistic” crime such as, “simple assault, personal drug use and possession, petty theft and vandalism.”

A Few Tips for Podcast Editing in Logic
Varispeed is a feature I didn’t realize existed until recently, but had always wished for. It lets you speed up the audio playback so you can basically listen through your podcast at 2x while editing.
Once the toolbar item is enabled, just use ⌃F (Control-F) to toggle it on and off. (I think that’s the default, but I might have edited that one. We’ll get to that below.)
Once it’s up, ensure that the type is set to Speed Only (click the top line for a menu), then double click on the percentage to edit it anywhere between -50% and 100% (100% being double normal playback speed). While playing back you can just hit the shortcut to speed up and then toggle it back off to return to normal speed. Scrubbing!
Some great stuff here.
Luke Bryant Tops the Charts
Luke Bryant has the number one album in the county this week:
Country superstar Luke Bryan notches his fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with the arrival of What Makes You Country. The set, which was released on Dec. 8 through Capitol Records Nashville, bows atop the list with 108,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Dec. 14, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 99,000 were in traditional album sales.
Sponsor: Mutant League Records Releases Free Compilation
Mutant League Records are celebrating their 5-year anniversary by giving away a free compilation album with music from Belmont, Crywank, Lucky Boys Confusion, and more. You can get this compilation right now on Bandcamp. Mutant League owner, Nate Steinheimer, commented on the label’s anniversary:
Really proud/shocked to still be able to release music under Mutant League five years into it. From pawning my stuff early on just to be able to afford postage for our records, to watching MLR bands perform sold-out shows and transform their music into a career; it’s been an bizarre but remarkable experience that I wouldn’t trade for a big house or bag of money.
You’ll find the full track listing below, so make sure you download the free compilation to discover a bunch of new bands.
