MxPx will be doing another Between This World and the Next show on June 4th. Today they’ve shared a performance of “Secret Weapon” to set the stage and whet the appetite. You can find more information and tickets at their website.

Today we’re excited to be premiering the new video from Broken Glowsticks for their song “Dancing on My Own.” Broken Glowsticks is the new side project from AJ Perdomo of The Dangerous Summer. The song is available on all streaming platforms and up at Molly Water Music for purchase.

AJ had this to say about the new project:

This is the new track from my side project Broken Glowsticks, this will be an outlet I use quite frequently in parallel to The Dangerous Summer in order to exercise my songwriting muscles. I spend a lot of hours working on songs that I worry may never see the light of day unless I create a new outlet for them. I want to have fun in this space; I think the second single will shock people a lot more, but this is my nice introduction into the world I am creating. Produced by Will Beasley, drums by Aaron Gillespie, and music video by Nick Marfing of Altamira Films. Leaving Hopeless and starting Molly Water Music really opened up my creative side, and maybe I am crazy, but I want a place for me and my friends to release whatever we feel. I think the quicker I can get my words into the listeners’ ears; we will be that much closer to something that is real.

The Republic of Wolves recently filmed a video for an acoustic/alternate version of “Colored Out.” Today, we’re happy to bring it to you. The song comes from the band’s recent album, Shrine, which recently made it onto our top albums of 2018 (so far) list.

The band has been working on some new acoustic/alternative versions of other songs from the album that may see a release in the future, and, if you haven’t checked out their new album yet — you should.

Save The Lost Boys’s new album, Temptress, comes out today and we’ve got the video premiere for the new single “Nothing’s Real Outside.” Vocalist/guitarist Lee Weiss describes the song:

“Nothing’s Real Outside” is about the world coming to an end and what you would go through for the people you love most while trying to deal with all the chaos and uncertainty that surrounds you. As you realize society in crumbling around you and everyone has gone blind to what truly matters, you remain a steadfast example of hope.

Celebration Guns – “The Me That Used To Be” (Video Premiere)

I was feeling oddly nostalgic on the day Celebration Guns sent over this video to see about premiering it on the website, and something about the old home video footage worked so well with the music that it won me over almost instantly. The track, “The Me That Used to Be” comes from the band’s recently released EP of the same name. Frontman, Justin Weir, described the video premise:

The video features footage of me as a super hyperactive kid and while the lyrics have a general theme of reconnecting with youth and the associated beliefs and ideals that came with it, the video features the guys in the band reconnecting with the spirit of youth at an arcade, minigolf, and laser tag. Kind of a more personal look at Celebration Guns that hopefully brings about a nostalgic feeling overall.

Summer Scouts – “Vessel” (Video Premiere)

Today I’m excited to debut the new video from Summer Scouts for their song “Vessel.” The track comes from the band’s upcoming album, Furthest Reach, which is set for release on May 20th. The song deals with the loss of a parent and confronts the realities of how this changes the home. When describing the track, the band explained it as:

Family life and norms change dramatically after the death of a parent. The home itself takes a drastic shift in its overall aura, a shift that slowly continues for years after the death, forever losing its original feeling. While the family’s personalities experience alterations as well, the house itself holds the significant, glaring symbolism of this dark familial change. “Vessel” visits this feeling that no one in the family wants to face and confronts it in an emotional conversation between the singer (an affected family member) and the house.

I was drawn to the vocal harmonies and rhythm section immediately and would probably say this is a good fit for fans of PVRIS and Mayday Parade — it’s definitely pop-rock but with this atmospheric tinge.
