LVRS – “Strung Out” (Song Premiere)

LVRS

LVRS are taking their indie rock roots and going back to the 90s with it. They bring attitude with their guitar-driven sound and Olivia DeJonghe’s vocals are a perfect compliment. Today, we’re thrilled to be premiering “Strung Out,” which is off of their upcoming EP, Hamartia. The EP is due out on June 14th, and you can pre-order it now over at Bandcamp.

“Strung Out” doesn’t have quite the Bikini Kill vibe, but the lyrical content reminds of bands like them from the riot grrrl movement. This song definitely makes me want to check out the rest of the EP and go back and listen to their previous work. Here’s what the band had to say about the song:

“Strung Out,” at its core is about addiction and navigating through the emotions of seeing a loved one hurt themselves. Recognizing unhealthy patterns and establishing boundaries. The manic drive of the song and energetic vocals help to inform the raw confrontational chorus. The bones of the songs are heavy yet the dreamy backdrop reflects detaching from the extremes of trauma.
