Anxious break down their new album track-by-track over at Consequence:
“Never Said” is one of the more “direct” songs on the record. It focuses on some deep feelings of exhaustion and disillusionment I’ve experienced over the past couple years through music. In our music subculture, there often seems to be this dynamic where people stay close to others regardless of the fact of whether they really like each other or not. You hear subtle whispers and rumors about what people really think of you, but those feelings are never expressed to you directly. It’s an exhausting social game and one I’m desperate to let go of.
Amazon MGM Takes Creative Control of James Bond Franchise
Alex Ritman, writing at Variety:
Amazon MGM Studios is set to take creative control of the James Bond franchise. The shock announcement — which is sure to shake and, indeed, stir the industry — was made Thursday, alongside the news that long-time producers and custodians of 007, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, would be stepping back.
As per details of the historic agreement, Amazon MGM Studios, Wilson and Broccoli have formed a new joint venture to house the James Bond intellectual property rights. The three parties will remain co-owners of the iconic franchise but Amazon MGM will have creative control.
I can’t think of anything Amazon has done that makes me even slightly excited about this. I expect we’ll get some garbage attempt at “universe building” when what we need is simply steady stewardship of an iconic franchise.
