Country superstar Luke Bryan notches his fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with the arrival of What Makes You Country. The set, which was released on Dec. 8 through Capitol Records Nashville, bows atop the list with 108,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Dec. 14, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 99,000 were in traditional album sales.
U2 have the number one album in the country this week:
U2 achieves its eighth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as the rock band’s new Songs of Experience debuts atop the tally. The set bows with 186,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Dec. 7, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 180,000 were in traditional album sales.
Taylor Swift once again has the number one album in the country:
Taylor Swift’s Reputation album racks up a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, as the set earned 256,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Nov. 23, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 232,000 were in traditional album sales.
Sam Smith has the number one album in the country:
The set earned 237,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Nov. 9, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 185,000 were in traditional album sales. The album is Smith’s second full-length studio effort, and was released on Nov. 3 through Capitol Records.
Kenny Chesney has the number one album in the country this week:
Live in No Shoes Nation, starts atop the list with 219,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Nov. 2, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 217,000 were in traditional album sales.
Niall Horan has the number one album in the country this week:
The set, which was released through Capitol Records on Oct. 20, starts with 152,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 26, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 128,000 were in traditional album sales.
Brand New returned the charts at #15 with 9,752 copies sold.
Pink has the number one album in the country this week:
It launches with a larger-than-expected 408,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 19, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 384,000 were in traditional album sales — the best sales week of the year among all acts.
Knuckle Puck and The Front Bottoms both sold around 9,000 copies.
NF has the number one album in the country this week:
The set was released on Oct. 6 through NF Real Music/Capitol/Caroline and starts with 55,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 12, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 38,000 were in traditional album sales — NF’s best sales week yet.
Shania Twain has the number one album in the country this week:
Of that sum, 134,000 were in traditional album sales — the third-largest sales week for a country album in 2017, and the largest for a woman in nearly two years. Now, which was released on Sept. 29 through Mercury Nashville, is Twain’s second No. 1 album and the first chart-topping country set by a female artist in over three years.
Tom Petty returns to the charts at number two:
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’ Greatest Hits re-enters at No. 2 with 84,000 units (up 2,231 percent) earned in the week ending Oct. 5, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 52,000 were in traditional album sales (up 3,407 percent). Greatest Hits initially peaked at No. 5 in February of 1994, following its release the previous year.
The Killers have the number one album in the country this week:
The set — which was released Sept. 22 through Island Records — debuts atop the chart with 118,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Sept. 28, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 111,000 were in traditional album sales.
The Foo Fighters have the number one album in the country this week:
The set earned 127,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 21, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 120,000 were in traditional album sales, which also makes the effort the top-selling album of the week.
Thomas Rhett has the number one album in the country this week:
The set — which brings country back to No. 1 for the first time in exactly one year — earned 123,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 14, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 94,000 were in traditional album sales, Rhett’s best sales week and the third largest sales week of 2017 for a country effort.
LCD Soundsystem have the number one album in the country this week:
The set earned 85,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 7, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 81,000 were in traditional album sales. The album was released on Sept. 1 and is the act’s first new studio effort in more than seven years, and first for Columbia Records.
And, because everyone always asks: it looks like Brand New added another 2k to their total.
Taylor Swift’s new single “Look What You Made Me Do” has climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts:
Swift has now officially climbed to the top — the top of the Billboard Hot 100, that is. With her new single “Look What You Made Me Do,” Swift has hit No. 1 on the chart, knocking Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” down from its 16-week reign.
Lil Uzi Vert has the number one album in the country this week:
Rapper Lil Uzi Vert bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with his debut studio album, Luv Is Rage 2, starting with 135,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Aug. 31, according to Nielsen Music. The album was released on Aug. 25 through Generation Now/Atlantic Records, and follows two earlier charting efforts for the artist.
It looks like PVRIS sold around 11k copies in their first week. Brand New did another 4k (a 94% drop from their chart-topping first week).
