A bunch of little teasers have been released for Justice League to lead up to a new trailer reveal this weekend.
‘Young Justice’ Gets a Third Season
A third season of Young Justice has been announced:
The Team is back and it’s “business as usual.” Warner Bros. Animation has begun production on a third season of all-new episodes of the acclaimed hit, action-animated series “Young Justice,” based on the characters from DC Entertainment. Season three promises new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes. Further details about the new season — including premiere date and network partner — will be announced at a later time.
Second ‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer
The new trailer for Wonder Woman has been released.
New Behind the Scenes ‘Justice League’ Footage
Zack Snyder has shared some behind the scenes footage from filming Justice League.
Joe Manganiello Cast as Deathstroke for Batman Movie
Joe Manganiello has been cast as Deathstroke for the upcoming Ben Affleck helmed Batman movie.
Geoff Johns, president of DC Entertainment and co-chief of DC Movies, confirmed the casting during an interview with The Wall Street Journal. It was also revealed that Johns, who was recently promoted to oversee DC’s film division, is currently writing the solo Batman feature that’s set to be directed by Affleck. In addition to Batman, the prolific comic book writer is working to develop The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg for the big screen. (WSJ also reports that Johns did a rewrite of the Wonder Woman script and worked with director Patty Jenkins to get it right; similarly, he worked with Zack Snyder on rewrites for The Justice League, which is currently filming in London.)
Gerard Way Talks With Comicbook.com
Comicbook.com spoke with Gerard Way and Jon Rivera about “Young Animal” the DC Comics imprint he’s in charge of. There is a small mention at the end about the whole teaser ordeal from the past week.
The video, I don’t really like to talk about just because we’re not that involved in it, and to be honest we didn’t realize that there wasn’t additional information coming out with that, which is why we asked the label to clarify.
New ‘Justice League’ Information
Justice League have released the official synopsis, logo, and some photos from the new movie. The film will drop on November 17th, 2017.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash — it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Geoff Johns Praises Ben Affleck’s Batman Script
DC Comics’ Geoff Johns was on Seth Meyers the other night to talk about DC’s new “rebirth” comic story (for what it’s worth: I really liked the first issue) — there’s a little mention of working with Ben Affleck on a solo Batman movie as well.
DC Comics Debuts New Logo/Identity
We’re not the only ones getting a new logo, DC Comics debuted their new identity this week as well:
“While comics continue to be the heart and soul of DC, the brand has evolved to now stand for powerful storytelling across so many different forms of media. DC is home to the greatest Super Heroes and Super-Villains, and the new logo has the character and strength to stand proudly alongside DC’s iconic symbols,” stated Amit Desai, DC Entertainment Senior Vice President of Marketing and Global Franchise Management.
If you squint, it kinda looks like Spider-Man or Deadpool … not DC characters. But other than that, it’s not bad.
