Today I’m pleased to share the new single from Pelafina called “Blue and Gold.” This four-piece emo rock band from Chicago is poised for big things this year as their sound is reminiscent of bands such as Moneen and The Graduate. You can pre-save this single on Spotify and stream it below.

Leather Bound Crooks – “Summer Nights” (Video Premiere)
Today I’m proud to premiere the latest video from Leather Bound Crooks called “Summer Nights.” The band mentioned in a recent interview that, “We really wanted to create a chill end of summer vibe. The song is central to a summer love and the tones and melody create this blissful atmosphere. We’re glad the lyric video is able to reflect the track’s aesthetics so well.” Leather Bound Crooks’ latest record, Breach, is available on all streaming platforms via Forward Pace Records.

Out of Service – “Stories” (Video Premiere)
Today I’m happy to bring you the premiere of the new music video from Out of Service called “Stories.” This new single comes from their latest effort, Burden, and I’d recommend this band for fans of As Cities Burn and Valencia, but Out of Service has a sound that has continued to evolve nicely since their debut LP, Morning.
Shredders – “Suburban Base” (Video Premiere)
Today we’re excited to premiere the new video from Shredders for “Suburban Base.” The song comes from the group’s recent album, Great Hits, which is available now on call streaming platforms. They’ve also announced a whole bunch of fall tour dates which can be found below.
Convenient, Trash – “Lylas House” (Song Premiere)
Pooch, the sophomore LP by Convenient, Trash, has only been out a little over a year, but the Lansing, MI, indie rock troupe are already back with a new single, which we’re excited to premiere for you today. “Lylas House” is the lead single from the band’s upcoming N*VY BLUE, due out September 6th via We’re Trying Records. It’s a good taste of the album – catchy enough to sing along to, but unpolished enough to still feel raw.
It’s the kind of song that would be all over those “best songs of the emo revival” lists half a decade ago. If that sounds appealing to you, be sure to preorder N*VY BLUE, and stream the song below.

Western Settings – “Another Year” (Song Premiere)
Today I’m excited to bring you the premiere of Western Settings’ new song, “Another Year.”
For those unfamiliar with the band, they are an incredible punk rock band from San Diego, California, and this second single is a strong representation of the band: solid punk rock with ear-candy hooks.
Lead singer and bassist, Ricky Schmidt, is as endearing as ever on the song, and the dual-guitar attack from Dylan Wolters and Will Castro allows the track to soar to new heights. If you’re into punk music, this band is one to watch as the year unfolds.
The song is available for streaming below, and the album is available for pre-order now on Bandcamp. It will be released on September 6th.

Sun Cycles – “Bang Bang” (Video Premiere)
Sun Cycles, the solo project of Jessica Hottman of The Hottman Sisters, released her latest single “Bang Bang” last week. Today we’re excited to premiere the track’s video. “Bang Bang” is, if you’ll excuse the pun, something of a banger, and I think fans of artists like Betty Who or Halsey would find a lot to love in the indie pop song. Hottman describes the song as:
A song about falling fast in love. It tells the tale of how we often play youthful games, in an attempt to ignore how we really feel. The bridge of the song is that moment when we let go and dive headfirst into those feelings we have, which are often inescapable anyway.
Emily Blue – “Bad Decisions” (Song Premiere)
Emily Blue is a pop singer from Chicago whose music is catchy and perfect for summertime. Her new song, “Bad Decisions,” is all about making the choice to not lead a mundane life, even if some of those decisions wind up being bad. The song follows her 2018 EP *69 and we’re thrilled to be premiering it today. Give it a listen below and it might just become one of your favorite songs of the summer.
Russian Girlfriends – “Redfield” (Video Premiere)
From Albuquerque, New Mexico, Russian Girlfriends and I are excited to premiere their new music video for the single, “Redfield.” Rich with religious imagery detailing lead vocalist Adam Hooks’ realizations that his upbringing as a pastor’s son may not be the best fit in his personal life, this video rocks with the immediacy of bands such as The Bouncing Souls and Anti-Flag.

Chorus TV: Punchline
Punchline’s most recent tour found them supporting their longtime friends and influencers, Less Than Jake. The Pittsburgh, PA quartet performed a half hour of catchy tunes, from early fan favorite “Heart Transplants” to material from their latest album, Lion, along with a cover of Operation Ivy’s “Sound System” for the ska loyalists.
Enjoy their full set live from College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT on April 16, 2019.
Moss Jaw – “What Is Your Composition?” (Video Premiere)
Moss Jaw dropped their debut Embody this past April, and it’s one of the more unique albums I’ve heard this year. An ambitious blend of emo, punk, dream pop, and slowcore, it’s the sort of genre roulette LP bands don’t usually attempt until they’ve established themselves a bit more, but it pays off in spades for the Kalamazoo, MI, four-piece. Case in point is “What Is Your Composition?,” the band’s latest single, the J Ludeker-directed video for which we’re excited to bring you today. Check that out below and be sure to give Embody a listen if you like what you hear.

LVRS – “Strung Out” (Song Premiere)
LVRS are taking their indie rock roots and going back to the 90s with it. They bring attitude with their guitar-driven sound and Olivia DeJonghe’s vocals are a perfect compliment. Today, we’re thrilled to be premiering “Strung Out,” which is off of their upcoming EP, Hamartia. The EP is due out on June 14th, and you can pre-order it now over at Bandcamp.
Flower Crown – “Breathe” (Song Premiere)
Flower Crown, site contributor Aaron Mook’s dream-pop band, will release their sophomore LP Sundries on May 24 via Crafted Sounds. Today we’re happy to bring you the album’s second single, “Breathe,” and fans of bands like DIIV or Wild Nothing won’t want to miss it. If you like what you hear, you can preorder the album on Bandcamp.
