Bands on TV (Week of April 18th)
This week on TV we’ve got Of Monsters & Men on Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday the 20th, M83 on Kimmel the very next night, and 5 Seconds of Summer on Ellen on Friday the 22nd. The rest of the late night shows have a bunch of re-runs.
The Billboard 200 (Week Ending April 14th)
The Lumineers have their first number one album on the Billboard 200. Deftones appear at number two with 71,000 copies sold (69,000 pure album sales).
Chris Stapleton’s Traveller dips 2-3 with 48,000 units (down 34 percent), while Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo descends 1-4 with 47,000 units (down 50 percent). The album fell 95 percent in traditional album sales, falling from a 28,000 start to a little more than 1,000 copies sold. (Much of its first week sales were bolstered by pre-orders not delivered until after the album saw a wide release on April 1. Those pre-orders were sold as part of a ticket/album bundle to his Yeezy 3 fashion show held at Madison Square Garden and screened via a live stream in movie theaters. The remaining sales were from Tidal and West’s official website.)
Reminder: AP.net Commemorative Pin Pre-Order
I talked with our friends at the Hard Rock Online Rock Shop and we’re going to keep the pre-order up for the second edition of our AP.net commemorative logo pin for another week. Thanks so much to everyone that’s picked one up so far, we’ve sold way more than I think anyone was expecting, and it’s pretty damn amazing. If you’d like one of the gold versions of the pins — make sure to get your order in.
Review: Deftones – Gore
It’s been well-documented how tumultuous the nearly 30 year career of Sacramento rock band Deftones has been. From the tragic loss of original bassist Chi Cheng, to the in-fighting, to the passive approach the band took to recording their mid-2000’s records – it’s somewhat remarkable that Deftones didn’t break up years ago. Instead, the band has unleashed Gore, their most fascinating release since 2001’s breakthrough White Pony.
Moose Blood – “Honey”
The new song “Honey” by Moose Blood is now up on Spotify and Apple Music. The song comes from the upcoming album, Blush, due out August 5th on Hopeless Records.
Update: Post updated with the official video.

Albums in Stores – April 15th, 2016
The album release day right before Record Store Day is always a tough one to navigate — looking over the new releases and trying to figure out what you’re going to pick up over the weekend. All of this week’s releases can be found on our release date calendar, or below. I haven’t checked out anything that’s coming out today yet, is there anything I should definitely make sure to add to my list? I know Craig Manning highly recommends that Sturgill Simpson album.
