Today I’m thrilled to introduce everyone to Rebelmatic. This funk-infused hardcore band is self-described as sounding like “James Brown in a mosh pit,” and they’re sharing an early listen to their slick new single called “Alive On Arrival.” The band shared:

Today I’m thrilled to introduce everyone to a band making waves in the alternative/pop-punk scene, The July Crowd. “Like Home” combines building guitars, poignant song writing, and soaring melodies in a style similar to bands like Real Friends. Speaking on the new track and subtle directional shift, lead vocalist Dom Walters explains:

’Like Home’ signals a significant music shift for us. Personal life, and the past few difficult years have crept into the way we usually write songs, creating something much more cathartic, emotional, and expressive. I’ve been writing songs because they help me work through major events in my life. This time around, on ‘Like Home,’ I’ve been able to work through something I’ve been suppressing for a while now. Maybe others can find comfort, solace, or understanding in growing up in, or living in, a broken home.

Today is a great day to share the newest single from NYC-based punk rock band, Scarboro, called “Save Yourself.” Formed
in 2012, the band draws inspiration from classic 80s hardcore, skate punk, and the East Coast DIY ethos, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and fiercely original. The band shared, “‘Save Yourself’ is about being a parent who suffers from mental illness struggling to be there for your child when they draw the exact same genetic lottery. It’s an apology letter to my first daughter for falling short as a father unable to reach her through my own fog, while also recognizing her inner strength and resilience that would eventually pull her out of it. Today I’m thrilled to bring everyone the new Yaz cover song performed by Dwight + Nicole called “Only You.” The song comes from the band’s forthcoming LP, Day or Night, that will be released on March 20, 2026 via WestWalk Records. Nicole Nelson shared, “I found the process of creating Day or Night to be about looking inward – reflecting my inner and not outer world. It was a deeply healing process creating this music. We always head into recording sessions with a bunch of songs and song ideas in hand. Often, we run out of time before we can finish everything we set out to record. Other times, we have finished recordings that don’t fit with the album we’ve built. Today I’m thrilled to bring everyone an early listen to the new single from Philadelphia psych rock band, Kewl Haze, called “Used To Have It All.” The two-piece band is Dan Scott Forreal and Derek Sheehan, and this artist is somewhere in the same realm as other bands like Tame Impala and Beck. Sheehan shared about the direction of the music Kewl Haze took on their debut LP, Suburban Sherpa:

’Used to Have it All’ was one of the early songs we wrote for the album. We started demoing this song at my home studio in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia back in 2021 after Forreal and I moved him back across country from LA. The song came together pretty quickly. I started strumming the chords for the verse and chorus, we put a drum beat to it and added bass, synth and lead guitar for the verse/chorus. We pretty much finished the instrumental demo that night. Forreal later laid down a vocal take at his home studio and I loved the direction. The lyrics were about a recent break-up/post break-up bender. The narrative of the song is hilariously devastating and self-deprecating while also poking fun at modern dating culture. We went to Retro City Studios in Germantown and recorded drums and I wrote lyrics and tracked vocals for the bridge. With that, the song was wrapped. We then brought the song for final mixing to Matt Barrick (The Walkmen, Jonathan Fire Eater) and re-amped guitars and added some additional synth and percussion at his studio Silent Partner Studios in Germantown. Matt’s good friend and co-owner of Silent Partner, Quentin Stoltzfus (Light Heat, Mazarin) mastered the track. We are super excited to officially share our first single with the world. Enjoy!

Today I’m thrilled to bring everyone a cool cover of a Judy Carter classic, by an artist known as Wallette, for “Listen to the Music.” On this re-worked version of the classic 1983 single, Wallette quickly showcases why she’s one of the brightest young stars in today’s music scene. Produced by veteran hitmaker Damien Quintard, Wallette shared her experiences of working with him by stating, “Working with Damien and his whole team was nothing short of magical. He’s so in tune with every inch of the space it made collaborating effortless and so much fun. It was a truly heartwarming and inspiring journey. I’m so grateful for the amazing team and the freedom the studio gave us to experiment and create without limits. Safe to say we all had a really good time!
