It’s the “still full from yesterday’s dinner” version of the newsletter. It’s a slow part of the year, so this week doesn’t have a whole lot of music to go through, but there is a bunch of movies and TV shows to make up for it. The band just released their new album, Burden, to all streaming services. The record is a three-act concept record about suffering from depression (Threshold, Sleep, Ash), deciding to get help (Stories, Chemicals, Burden), and learning to live with your mental illness (Trauma, Uneasy, Tomorrow).
Burden was mixed by Nathan Hussey (All Get Out) and mastered at Vu Du Studios by Frank Mitaritonna. It is a synthesis of the band’s raw emotional energy and indie sensibilities. The first single, “Stories,” features Madeline Finn (Envoi) who blends her soaring vocals to amplify the emotive energy of the song.

Hawthorne Heights have launched their annual holiday card bundles. Limited to 150, they included a card from the band, a mystery shirt, and handwritten signed lyrics.

Kacey Musgraves’s Christmas special is now up on streaming services and available to stream on Amazon Prime.
Grimes has released the new song “My Name Is Dark.”
Fickle Friends have shared an acoustic version of “Amateurs.”
Lights has shared her rendition of “Happy Xmas (War is Over)” to all streaming services.

Smackin Isaiah (the previous band of A Wilhelm Scream) have put up their album, The Way to a Girl’s Heart is Through Her Boyfriend’s Stomach, on vinyl for the first time.
A Day to Remember talked with WSOU about why their album was pushed back:
It got pushed back because the art for the record isn’t done yet,” Kevin shared. “We still can’t find a good cover for the record. I know it doesn’t really matter nowadays with streaming and everything, but we just want everything to be perfect before it comes out. And there are still a couple of songs that are still getting mixed that we just need to find the right mixer. It’s only getting pushed back – what? Two, two and a half months, so it’s not too bad.
