The English horror-punk band Creeper are about to take over the US with a smattering of east coast dates and music festivals before hoping back across The Pond to dominate Europe for the rest of the year. Here they chat with me briefly on the APMA red carpet.

Two months ago, The Hotelier released their third album, Goodness. It touches on themes of Taoism and acceptance and it’s been something I’ve connected with a good deal during the end of my senior year of high school. Last week, on the tour to celebrate the release of the album, I had the opportunity to speak with the group’s lead singer/bassist/lyricist, Christian Holden. We discussed the writing process of Goodness, the band’s first music video(s), and anarchist theory.
This year’s Alternative Press Music Awards were moved to Columbus, Ohio because the Republican National Convention was getting started in Cleveland. Stephan Jenkins, lead singer of Third Eye Blind, played with Mayday Parade and The Maine for the awards show and, well, we’ve all read about the band’s performance the other night. I spoke with Stephan on the red carpet at the APMAs and he talked about the band putting a new EP in the next few weeks and their plans for the rest of the year.
Safe to Say are an alternative band from Ontario, Canada. The band recently released their Hiding Games EP and will be releasing their new album, Down in the Dark, on Side One Dummy Records. I spoke with the band on this year’s Warped Tour.
Pepper are a three-piece reggae rock band from Hawaii that have been going strong since 1997. I spoke with drummer Yesod Williams about the band’s longevity, their new album Ohana, and fitting the Warped Tour vibe.

Save The Lost Boys’s new album, Temptress, comes out today and we’ve got the video premiere for the new single “Nothing’s Real Outside.” Vocalist/guitarist Lee Weiss describes the song:

As you realize society in crumbling around you and everyone has gone blind to what truly matters, you remain a steadfast example of hope.

This week’s episode of Encore is all about Blink-182 and their new album California. Thomas kinda really hates it. I like it more. We discuss our history with the band, what we think about the songs, why I’m more positive on the album and the “feel” it gives off, and why Thomas thinks it’s super boring. We also have some talk about Snapchat and the NBA making us excited and sad all at the same time. These are the episodes that are a lot of fun to do — I like when we disagree.
