Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy has remixed Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Run Away With Me.” This song is one of my favorites of last year, but after seeing this, I’ll never hear those opening notes the same.

Grimes Talks With Rolling Stone
Grimes talked with Rolling Stone about new music in the works, sexism in the music industry, and how rock music could work in 2016.
I personally really love [British bands] like Bring Me the Horizon and Foals. There’s definitely a future in rock, but it will probably be more fusion-oriented, like rock that uses 808s. Twenty One Pilots is kind of like that – it’s sort of rock, but the sound is hip-hop. You know all those songs on [the Smashing Pumpkins’] Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness that almost sound like Lorde or something? I feel like that vibe has not been explored.
Amazon Working on Bob Dylan TV Series
Cynthia Littleton, writing for Variety, on a TV series in the work inspired by Bob Dylan songs:
Lionsgate TV is closing in on a deal with Amazon for an hourlong drama series inspired by characters and themes from Bob Dylan’s vast archive of songs.
“Time Out of Mind” will be spearheaded by writer-director Josh Wakely, who managed to secure the wide-ranging rights deal for Dylan’s song catalog. The project, which is in the early stage of development, will be produced through Wakely’s Sydney-based Grace production banner.

Frank Turner to Play ‘England Keep My Bones’ in Full
Frank Turner will be performing England Keep My Bones in full on May 13th at Brixton’s Electric.
Predictably, the announcement caused a bit of a tizzy on this here internet thingy, and I got into some discussions on Twitter (never a brilliant idea in my experience). I wanted to lay out some thoughts here for everyone. The whole show announce thing can be very frustrating from where I stand, but it’s important for me to remind myself that not everyone is as immersed in the workings of the industry as I am, and that a little explanation from my end might do more good than getting annoyed online.

As I talked with Jason about the transition from AbsolutePunk to Chorus, I started thinking about the impact that website had on me over the years. I thought about all the shows I shot under that little heart banner. As I sat looking at a pile of boxes filled with old film and prints from the past, I realized how sad it would be if these only lived in the cardboard coffins and were never shared with the world. So, I’m going to be posting some pictures from of my favorite shows over the next few weeks.
I’m stealing the “throwback Thursday” moniker, because, why not? This week I’m excited to share some images I captured of The Used at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, CO on April 12th, 2015.

Noisey Talks With Latterman About Reunion
Dan Ozzi, writing for Noisey, talks with Latterman about their upcoming two reunion shows and catching up on what the members have been up to. It’s a great read.
Something I’ll experience so often on RVIVR tours is that people will come up to me and say, “I wish I saw Latterman!” And I’ll be like, “Yeah we played here.” And they’d be like, “Really? When?” And I’d say, “In 2001 at Trashcan Books.” And they’re like, “What’s that?” And I’m like, “I don’t know, the anarchist space?” And they’re like, “Oh that’s not around anymore. My older sister worked there, but I was ten years old.” RVIVR, in the beginning, we pissed a lot of people off. People were very, very angry at us about wanting to be inclusive of queer people, wanting to be inclusive of women, of trans people. To the point where people would come to RVIVR shows just to mess with us.
Relient K’s ‘Air for Free’ Up for Vinyl Pre-Order
Relient K’s upcoming album Air for Free is up for pre-order on vinyl. It’ll have a different sequencing than the digital release.
We spent quite a long time sequencing this album, and while I’m very happy with the digital sequence, I wanted the vinyl to be a bit of a different experience. Listening to a recording on vinyl is a special thing by its very nature, there is a certain reverence that comes with it. The songs are grouped in specific themes, so that each of the four sides can stand alone and also flow on their own. I know sometimes I forget to flip the record or don’t have time to listen to an entire album in one sitting. I wanted each side to feel like a part of the journey that is “Air For Free” but also to be an experience in an of itself. Making this album has been quite a special journey for us and we thank you for coming along.
