Pete Wentz Talks With Rolling Stone

Fall Out Boy

Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy sat down with Rolling Stone:

It feels like every once in awhile, you’ve gotta do a hard restart that clears the cache and erases the hard drive. I think that’s what “Young and Menace” was – a big palette cleanse. I think it gave us the space to create something brand new. The world can be a big lonely place, especially for kids who are trying to figure themselves out. I think sometimes we can forget that… that’s who Mania is meant to speak to. That’s who I want to reach. I don’t think that kids should feel like they need to adjust their empathy or selves to the world – I’d rather give them the belief that they can adjust the world to fit their empathy.

Andrew Belle – “When the End Comes” (Song Premiere)

Andrew Belle

Andrew Belle will release his new album, Dive Deep, on August 25th. Today I’m excited to bring you the premiere of the new song “When the End Comes.” When describing the song, Andrew said:

“When the End Comes” is about just that – it’s about how on one hand I can know that at the end of my time here I won’t care about much else besides the people that I love and who love me back; and yet I get so distracted and caught up in my own head with everything going on these days that I need reminding of that on a daily basis. At the end of my life there will only be a handful of things that mean anything to me and so I wrote this song about keeping those things close and putting everything else in the background.

Pre-orders for the album are now up and ticket packages for the upcoming tour are also available. I’ve been looking forward to this album for a while, and it doesn’t sound like it’s going to disappoint.

Scott Belsky Interview on Startups

Business Insider:

Scott Belsky is an early investor in startups such as Uber, Pinterest, and Warby Parker who began his career at Goldman Sachs.

He realized quickly that Goldman wasn’t for him, so he spent the next four years saving $18,000. He used the money and some help from those close to him to quit and bootstrap a startup called Behance. Belsky didn’t take a paycheck for the next two years.

In the end, the hard work paid off. Adobe purchased Behance for a reported $150 million, and Belsky went out of his way to turn half of his employees into millionaires from the sale.

This was a really good interview.

Tom DeLonge Helps Track Down Alleged Predators

Tom DeLonge

Tom DeLonge recently posted on Facebook about helping track down alleged sexual predators:

These asswipes are going to jail for trying to kidnapp a 15 year old girl 48 hours ago. She grew up with my family and my bandmates. We then banned together in Encinitas and we all posted about it. Then, about 10,000 San Diego people were looking for these douchbags and their ugly truck. After they staked out 2 MORE ELEMENTRY SCHOOLS YESTERDAY, the fucking idiot drove back into the SAME FUCKING NEIGHBORHOOD where everyone was looking and wiring to crucify him. So… SWAT TEAM took the fuckface down, and like the pussy he is, he ratted out his friend instantly. Still trying to connect all dots to see if it goes all the way to human trafficking and any other horrible sex crimes. But as a Father, I can speak for all other Fathers, these guys are lucky they were grabbed by police and not us.

Lynn Gunn Talks About Stress on the Road

PVRIS

PVRIS’ Lynn Gunn apologized on Twitter for not seeming like herself on some recent tour dates:

Sorry if I haven’t seemed myself at our shows this summer, in the midst of navigating some vocal kinks & have felt very uncomfortable. I try my best not to let outside stress get in the way during our shows, there’s a lot right now & it’s been carrying over too. I hate that I’m even feeling the need to apologize? Just hope you know you’re loved & appreciated at these shows for being such good energy BUT the good news is that MOST of the stress is just from trying to make this record as perfect as it can be while in the middle of tour. Pardon me, “release” I should say … record is done … the rest is planning/filming for remaining vids, headline tour plans/direction, etc.
