Review: The Menzingers – Everything I Ever Saw

The Menzingers - Everything I Ever Saw

The eighth studio album from the Scranton, PA punk rockers The Menzingers is called Everything I Ever Saw and it alludes to the band taking a look back at just how far they’ve come both personally and professionally. On the opening song of “Chance Encounters” lead singer Greg Barnett offers, “So sick of being lonely, do you want to get to know me?” as a way of inviting the audience into his world, headspace, and overall outlook on life. Their previous record of Some Of It Was True was filled with folk punk songs about heartache, growing up, and finding your place in a world that doesn’t seem to make sense. Everything I Ever Saw finds The Menzingers at a comfortable stage of their music career and with the creative freedom to try just about whatever they’d like to do. It’s an enjoyable listening experience from front to back, and the singles released thus far do a solid job of encapsulating the direction the band took here. By finding solace at this point in their collective lives, Everything I Ever Saw reignites the flame burning inside the band as they reflect on their youth while still accelerating their growth as storytellers and accomplished songwriters.

Spotify Expands Music Video Push

Music Business Worldwide:

The Music Video Charts Global, which went live on Tuesday (July 21), ranks the top 50videos worldwide by daily stream count, according to the company.

It arrives as Spotify also, for the first time, lets artists pitch their music videos directly to its editorial team for playlist consideration.

Both features are part of an expansion of video across the platform, which now counts nearly 100,000 artists in a beta that lets them upload full-length videos themselves.

The chart sits within Spotify‘s Charts and Music Video Playlists hubs, and every Tuesday the company says it will spotlight the top 10 videos across its social channels.

The Lost Joy of Music Piracy

Eden Dasilva, writing for Pigeons and Planes:

Launched in 2004, Oink’s Pink Palace was created by a 21-year-old computer science student in England in response to legal action being taken against users of public file sharing services like Napster and The Pirate Bay. In a few short years, Oink grew into a massive community of like-minded music enthusiasts, offering high-quality downloads of virtually every album in existence. “It was like opening a secret door to this incredible world,” Sheridan reflects. “File sharing was everywhere, but you’d never seen this level of care and detail. You see those videos now where they bring film people into the Criterion Collection—it felt like that—being invited to the ultimate music collector’s den, the private club where they show you all these records you never thought you’d have. Most people didn’t have the same kind of experience, they got the LimeWire version which was the equivalent of wading through a dollar store that’s just been ransacked and shit’s all over the floor.”

Temples

UK rock band Temples are sharing an exclusive Q&A that they filmed last year regarding their latest album, called Bliss. The band shared, “We filmed this back in 2025 while together in London shooting the cover of our album BLISS. We wanted to create a video that captured our thoughts on the album, touring and general life pre-release to be able to look back on.”

Weather Happy – “It Leaks Out” (Song Premiere)

Weather Happy

Today is a great day to share the new single from the UK Alt-rock duo, Weather Happy, called “It Leaks Out.”

”This was one of the first songs we wrote for this project,” the band explains. “It’s a song about masking and bottling up negative thoughts and feelings until they inevitably find a way out. The enigmatic “corridors” featured in the song represent the journey and impression those feelings make on and around our bodies with the constant need and pressure to reassure everyone that everything is fine. We loved writing this track. We were still working out which direction to take the band but rather than just ease in we kicked it off with this angry, angular, frustrated track and it perfectly reflected where we both were at that very moment in our lives.”

Weather Happy is the duo of Holly Carter and Harry Carter, and their great chemistry as friends boils over on this vibrant new single. If you’re enjoying the track, keep your eyes peeled for the band’s debut EP, called Moth, that releases on October 30th via Easy Does It Records.
