Record Store Day Countdown: Dead By Sunrise – Out Of Ashes

CD, Record Store

The countdown to Record Store Day continues today with a look at Dead By Sunrise and their only LP, Out of Ashes, that will be released on “black ice” vinyl for the first time in North America. For those unfamiliar with the band, they were fronted by Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington and included Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh from Orgy. This album was officially released on September 30th, 2009 and was produced by veteran hit-maker Howard Benson. This “RSD First” release is limited to just 7,500 copies and comes courtesy of Warner Records.

The original 12-track album has been slightly expanded to include the bonus song “Morning After,” that only saw the light of day on the Japanese version of the CD as well as on the Underworld – Evolution soundtrack. The song is a great addition to this set of songs that include the singles “Crawl Back In,” “Let Down,” and “Fire.” This double LP set also includes an additional five bonus acoustic songs from the band’s set in Las Vegas.

With such a star-studded cast of musicians and a bulletproof tracklisting, Dead By Sunrise’s Out Of Ashes will likely be highly sought after by vinyl collectors across the states. I can’t wait to finally spin this classic that I adored when it released in 2009, and I’m sure I’m not alone in this sentiment.
