Warped Tour’s Final Run to Be Filmed for Four-Part Series

Warped Tour

Variety is reporting that Warped Tour’s final run will be filmed for a four-part series on the tour:

“The documentary that we’re putting together is really about the legacy of the tour,” director DJay Brawner tells Variety. “Of course, this year being the final year it’s important for us to capture moments from the culmination, but what we’re really trying to put together is a story about how the tour started and grew over the last 24 years, with all of it culminating with the final day and what that means for this team of people, the future of the brand and everything in between.

Gerard Way Begins Working on New Music

Gerard Way

Gerard Way will soon be working on new music:

Now, onto the music. It is far too early to have any kind of idea when new music will be coming out from me, or what it will be specifically. Would it be a solo record? A new band? Songs for the Netflix Umbrella Academy show? Something else? Again, too early to tell, but the process has started and happens every Friday at the moment. I’m in the discovery phase, and very excited about that. I’m off to make some sounds— see you soon!

March Madness Bracket Challenge

Basketball

The NCAA basketball tournament is once again upon us. As usual I’ve created a bracket group for members of the website to fill out brackets. The winner will get a free year of the supporter package. Pick some teams, win some Dark Mode. Not a bad deal.

A printable bracket can be found here, and times for the games can be found here. And, as always, we have a thread in the sports forums for talking about the games.

Talinda Bennington Launches New Campaign in Honor of Chester

Linkin Park

Talinda Bennington, wife of Linkin Park’s late Chester Bennington, has launched a new campaign in honor of her husband:

The idea for 320 was born out of my personal experience and the recognition that we can do better to address the needs of those who are suffering with mental health concerns and addiction. For 13 years I watched my husband Chester struggle with depression and substance use. I often felt scared and alone. I was uneducated about the challenges he faced and I wanted information – but finding answers to my questions and available help for our family was very difficult.

AFI Release ‘Sing the Sorrow’ Anniversary Bundle

AFI

AFI have posted up a Sing the Sorrow anniversary bundle on their store:

It’s hard to believe that 15 years have passed since the release of our sixth studio album, Sing the Sorrow. Since then, we’ve released four albums and are fortunate enough to have you awaiting all of those to come. In recognition of this milestone, we have created a Sing the Sorrow anniversary bundle, complete with a t-shirt, tote bag, and poster – all in the spirit of the era.

This album holds up surprisingly well. I’d be down for a vinyl repress.

Amazon Echo Is Randomly Laughing at People

amazon

Shannon Liao, writing at The Verge:

Over the past few days, users with Alexa-enabled devices have reported hearing strange, unprompted laughter. Amazon responded to the creepiness in a statement to The Verge, saying, “We’re aware of this and working to fix it.”

As noted in media reports and a trending Twitter moment, Alexa laughs without being prompted to wake. People on Twitter and Reddit reported that they thought it was an actual person laughing near them, which can be scary when you’re home alone. Many responded to the cackling sounds by unplugging their Alexa-enabled devices.

Cool. Cool. Not creepy at all.
