Late Cambrian – “Sydney Sweeney” (Video Premiere)

Late Cambrian

Today I’m excited to share the latest music video from indie pop/rock band Late Cambrian, called “Sydney Sweeney.” In this dystopian-styled song, the band explores the pitfalls of being stuck online with no glimmers of hope to escape the ugliness of this world. The single comes from their upcoming record entitled Future Snacks, where the band shared, “We were originally going to call the album Future Ghosts, but I thought it was too grim,” says Wlaysewski. “Future Snacks came out of that idea of planning for a party, creating an experience, but then underneath that there’s the creeping sense that it can all end at any time. In a way, we’re all future snacks.” If you’re enjoying the new track from Late Cambrian, Future Snacks hits the streets on September 23rd via Mifflin Street Music.

Good Sleepy

Today I’m excited to share the lead single from indie band Good Sleepy, called “Make Pretend.” The song comes from their forthcoming EP I Better Start Dreaming, which releases on October 21st via No Sleep Records. The EP features three full-band tracks as well as three acoustic ones to round out an EP that showcases the band’s continued songwriting growth. The band shared:

”Make Pretend” is the first single off of our upcoming EP release, titled I Better Start Dreaming Vol. 1. We chose to release this song as a single because we felt it accurately gets many of the main points of the EP across, which is all about setting goals for aimless realities, trying so hard to be happy that you lose sight of what makes you happy, and burning your home town to the ground. “Make Pretend” is a song about regrets and giving yourself another chance when you feel like there won’t ever be another.

Junro – “Stay Here Now” (Video Premiere)

Junro

I couldn’t be more excited to bring everyone the latest single from Junro, called “Stay Here Now.” The song builds off of the band’s successful debut EP, Throwing Stones, and speaks to their commitment in putting their best foot forward in their music. The band shared:

”Stay Here Now” is about hating where you are and trying to get out. I moved back to my home town a few years ago with my family and even though we came back on our terms and for our own reasons, it’s hard for me to feel successful living where I grew up. This song is one of the first we sent over to Andrew Groves, the singer and guitar player of Arcane Roots and our producer for ‘Matches’, and it really was the catalyst in our sonic change. We had a ton of fun trying to make the ending sound as massive as possible, layering so many guitars and different sounds. We think the track really defines the new vibe and we hope it hits listeners as hard as we worked on these tracks.

If you’re enjoying the single as much as I have been, please consider purchasing it starting this week. Junro’s new EP, Matches, also features this great single and will be released on November 4th.

Expert Timing – New Queen (Song Premiere)

The record drops on September 23rd via Count Your Lucky Stars Records but we have an exclusive taste with the band’s latest single “New Queen.” Vocalist/bassist Katrina Snyder describes the track as:

It’s incredibly frustrating when you deep dive history and find that women have always been behind so many of the biggest events in history, yet their stories weren’t told and names were rarely printed. Even now, most women can tell you a circumstance in which her accomplishments were pushed aside or credit taken in favor of a man being in the spotlight. “New Queen” is about those forgotten women and celebrating them.

Kramer – “Burial At Sea” (Video Premiere)

Kramer

Today is the perfect time to share the latest music video from Kramer, called “Burial At Sea.” This ambient-style song examines the depths of the sea, the mystery of those who have been lost to those elements, as well as exploring what happens to the people who have been left to wonder this world without those lost souls. The song comes from Kramer’s new LP, Music For Films Edited by Moths, and he shared:

What I have come to embrace is the working notion that there is no past, and no future. There is only a constantly evolving series of microscopic moments that constitute the miraculous present. As fertile as it is and always has been, for me, memory is a chimera. So if you asked me what it is exactly that I am trying to do now, with music, be it through song, or through ambience, I would confess that what I’m doing couldn’t be more simple; I am just trying to explain myself. I’m trying to show you who I am.

Through this thoughtful exploration comes great-sounding tracks like the one found here.

Dogbreth – “Like A Walletchain” (Video Premiere)

Dogbreth

Today I’m thrilled to share the latest single and music video from indie rock band, Dogbreth, called “Like A Walletchain.” In this great-sounding single that sways somewhere between Joyce Manor, Jimmy Eat World, and the spirit of Arizona rock bands, Dogbreth are well on their way to making a name for themselves. On the song, the band shared:

We initially had a completely different concept for this video that we decided to scrap the day before shooting. It was originally going to take place in an empty swimming pool and be kind of like a skate video, but we only had a narrow window of time in the afternoon to film it, and we saw the weather forecast say it was going to be 110 degrees outside during that time and I didn’t want to put everyone through that. So I tried to think of a video that could take place indoors – and then I remembered I had this VHS tape I found that I had been wanting to show the band, so I invited them over to watch it before band practice and had the film crew there ready to go. I’m really pleased with how it turned out and I hope people enjoy it!

If you’re enjoying the new and exciting direction Dogbreth went here, you can purchase their full-length record called Believe This Rain here.
