Spotify Acquires CrowdAlbum
Glenn Peoples, writing for TechCrunch, on Spotify’s aquistion of CrowdAlbum:
Spotify announced Wednesday it has acquired CrowdAlbum, a service that creates albums of events based on the location and time of photos and videos people share on social media sites. It can index content for any kind of event — sports, Earth Day festivals, political rallies — but mostly aggregates photos from music concerts and festivals.
All Time Low Working on New Music This Year
Alex from All Time Low has tweeted out that they wish they could be on the whole Blink-182 tour, but that this year is really about “making the best new music that we can.” So, I’ll take that as confirmation the band is working on new music this year!
Blink-182 on KROQ — All the Updates
It’s exciting to be posting about Blink-182 again. It’s even more fun when the music coming out is undeniably catchy and there seems to be this buzz hovering around the band again in a way I haven’t felt in years. Hell, I even had to give myself a Blink-182 avatar in the forums. So, today the band will be visiting KROQ once again to announce some news and probably talk a little more about their upcoming album, California.
We’re expecting pre-order information and probably the announcement of their massive tour as well. I’ll be listening live and then updating this post with news as it comes in, that way there will be one central location for everything you need to know about what happened today. If you’d like to join in on the conversation you can click the little quote bubble on this post to jump to the comments section or, as always, join our large official thread in the forums.

Super High-Resolution Photos of Insects
Photographer Levon Biss produces stunningly detailed photographs of tiny insects — I kept zooming in on this retina screen thinking they’d get all blurry and pixelated, they do not. An exhibition of these photos will be on display at Oxford University Museum of Natural History and a video detailing how the photos are made can be found below.

Update: At one point the album was going to be called No Future, but it was changed to not be so negative. Also Mark tossed the name OBGYN Kenobi around as a possibility, because of course. The album is out July 1st, which is the 182nd day of the year.
Update #2: The tour dates have shown up online and can be found below. A Day to Remember, All Time Low, and The All-American Rejects are opening select dates.

Next Nintendo Console Set for March 2017
The new Nintendo console is set for a March 2017 release.
Nintendo has been saying that the NX is a brand new thing. And rumor has it that the NX is going to replace both the Wii U and the 3DS. The console would come with a gamepad that you could use as a portable console when you’re not in front of your TV.
Five Finger Death Punch Being Sued by Label
TMZ is reporting that Five Finger Death Punch are being sued by their own record label.
Five Finger Death Punch is trying to crank out new songs before its lead singer ends up in rehab — or worse — but that haste is making for some really crappy music, according to their own record label. Prospect Park filed a lawsuit against the heavy metal rockers, saying the band is “shamelessly attempting to cash in before the anticipated downfall of their addicted bandmate.”
The band has responded:
Prospect Park has chosen to sue us, hold us for ransom and squeeze extra money out of its contract rights by attempting to sell an interest in future recordings. What’s worse is that Prospect Park very deliberately filed their meritless lawsuit the same week we are trying put our fall co-headlining arena tour on sale.
