Watchmen has a teaser trailer. Dare I say it? It looks … good.
Sum 41 Talk With Kerrang
Sum 41 talked with Kerrang about their new album:
Lyrically, this is a weird record for me. I never know in advance what I’m going to write about – it’s a case of getting those first couple of lines out, and then I get the gist of where I’m going with it. I have a very stream-of-consciousness way of doing things. With this album, though, I didn’t want to go down the path that my subconscious was leading me, and I tried to fight it. I was reluctant to make a sociopolitical album, but it’s really hard to ignore everything that’s going on in the world – you can’t not have an opinion on things. I was trying to stop myself from writing anything that sounded politically ‘of the times’, but every time I tried to change the lyrics it all stopped making sense.

Silversun Pickups Explain “Freakazoid”
Silversun Pickups talked with Consequence of Sound about their latest single “Freakazoid:”
This song was written with an acoustic guitar and the string melodies in mind. After having purposefully removed anything organic on the previous albums, we knew we wanted to dive into the deep end of all things warm and wooden on this record. It clearly has a nostalgic tone to it with a little future tech sprinkled in. I left a lot of room open for Nikki to really move around and slither her way through the vocal gaps.

Blink-182 – “Blame It on My Youth”
Blink-182’s new single “Blame It on My Youth” is up on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube. There’s also a lyric video.
I’ll have more thoughts on the song throughout the day, but first impressions are it’s good, I like that they’re mixing it up, and I’m pretty sure they worked with Tim Pagnotta and Sam Hollander on this one and it’s a great combo.
