What Happens When Britain Leaves the EU
Voters have decided that Britain will exit the European Union. Vox has a good rundown on what this means and what the ramifications may be:
Britain’s exit will affect the British economy, immigration policy, and lots more. It will take years for the full consequences to become clear. But here are some of the most important changes we can expect in the coming months.
Yellowcard Stream New Song; Say Goodbye
I knew this day was coming and I still find myself getting a little emotional finally having to make the post. After years of covering Yellowcard, it’s time to say goodbye. The band are now streaming their new single, “Rest in Peace,” and have announced that their new self-titled album will be the band’s final release. You’ll find an announcement from the band, a press release about the upcoming album, tour dates for the band’s final tour, and the song to stream, below. Pre-orders for the album are up on their website.
I’m sure there will be much to write and say about the band in the future, but for the moment I just want to say: thank you. It’s been a wild ride and I’ve loved being able to see the band’s rise to fame, comeback, and to be able to experience the past 15 or so years with your music. It’s been an absolute pleasure.

Interview: Pierce the Veil (Video)
Fans have been waiting with bated breath for a new album from Pierce the Veil. I recently talked with Jaime Preciado (bass) and Tony Perry (lead guitar) about what led to the the delay of their recently released album, Misadventures. The guys also talk about how fans might deal with the violence that occurred at the Bataclan Night Club last year (a venue they once played), as well as the violence at Pulse Night Club, and the murder of Christina Grimmie in Orlando, Florida. We also discuss the band meeting with fans that have terminal illnesses through the Living the Dream Foundation. You can find the entire interview below.
The Complicated Genius of Morrissey
Sean Nelson, writing for MTV, all about Morrissey:
If you were born after 1990 or didn’t grow up in London, Manchester, or Los Angeles, there’s an excellent chance your only knowledge of Morrissey consists of music blog news dispatches about cranky statements he’s made on the subject of animal rights or British immigration policies or the music business. Or perhaps you’ve seen the odd mention of an aging English singer with a reputation for being a “miserablist” whose robust cult audience would happily follow him into hell while the rest of the world cheered their departure. This is unfortunate, because, while all those things are true, Morrissey and his former band The Smiths have a legitimate claim to having transformed the culture and sound of indie rock and pop in far-reaching ways.
Dieter Rams Documentary Kickstarter
Gary Hustwit, director of Helvetica and Objectified, is Kickstarting a movie on legendary product designer Dieter Rams:
This Kickstarter campaign will fund the film and also help to preserve Dieter’s incredible design archive for the future. There’s a trove of drawings, photographs, and other material spanning Dieter’s fifty plus years of work, and it needs to be properly conserved.
