The Beatles Announce Christmas Box Set

The Beatles will be releasing a limited edition box set for Christmas. Billboard reports:

[T]hey will be releasing a limited-edition box set of their Christmas holiday messages, originally given only to fan club members on flexi-discs from 1963 to 1969.

The limited edition set will include seven 7-inch colored vinyl singles, one for each of the seven messages. The Christmas records have never been given general release as a set before, though one was made available as part of The Beatles Rock Band video game.

This video is an explanation of how time travel functions in different popular movies, books, & shows – not how it works “under the hood”, but how it causally affects the perspective of characters’ timelines (who has free will? can you change things by going back to the past or forwards into the future?). In particular, I explain Ender’s Game, Planet of the Apes, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Primer, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Back to the Future, Groundhog Day, Looper, the video game “Braid”, and Lifeline.

CMA Awards Apologize for Their Media Guidelines

The CMA Awards have rescinded their media guidelines that asked press not to focus on politics, guns, or the recent Las Vegas shooting. After backlash from artists like Brad Paisley, Ryan Adams, and Maren Morris, they issued the following statement:

CMA apologizes for the recently distributed restrictions in the CMA Awards media guidelines, which have since been lifted. The sentiment was not to infringe and was created with the best of intentions to honor and celebrate Country Music.

How does this keep happening? When do we finally say “enough is enough” and hold these men accountable for their evil actions? When will a firing or a stint in rehab not be the solution to this problem? When will this problem no longer be a problem?

Allie X and Vérité have teamed up for a new remix of “Casanova.” The song is now up on Spotify and Apple Music. They also both sat down to talk with Idolator about the song and the state of pop music:

And I think the advice I would give to someone is pretty much persistence. Some people are fortunate for it to work out right away, but in most cases you just have to chip away for a long time. Really look into yourself. Find your sound. Don’t listen to other people unless it makes sense to you in your gut. But yeah, just go, go, go go go and don’t give up.
